What the hell is Senior Bitches?

Senior Bitches is the lovechild of a wine infused lunch that took place in Rome, Camp de’ Fiori to be exact, on January 27th 2023. I was with my Parisian friend Anne Marie, who I had bonded with many years earlier while I was dating a billionaire. We met on his yacht. I know - how obnoxious do I already sound?
Fast forward to a decade later, having said lunch over copious amounts of pasta and Rose, slightly buzzed and comforted by the late winter sun but definitely not by the impending nervous breakdown that had been chasing me all over Italy. My life had just been Hiroshima-ed, pretty much on every level. You name it, it was ashes. Relationships, family, career, and bank accounts; leveled. Definitely not Molto Bene!
Who knew over appetizers ( Jerusalem fried artichokes ), clarity would come. I was getting way too old for this shit. By constantly diminishing my value as my number accelerated I was doing exactly what society wants us to do; disappear.
So Fuck it!
I have never felt more powerful, or more curious or more alive so why was I still residing in abject terror over aging? It was time for a change.
That is why I created my podcast Senior Bitches (Apple, iHeart, Spotify) to celebrate women (and a few men too) who are changing the weather around aging. Substack is such a great vehicle to share, and vent and I am beyond inspired and grateful to be a part of this connected community.

Who is this fabulous woman?
My name is Mary Jo Eustace. I am 61 years of age, divorced and the mother of 2 slightly irritating children. I am also the author of numerous best selling books, the host of more than 800 episodes of cooking shows and an actively aging senior.
A few more things; I am a trained chef, a skincare founder and obsessive about travel, food and the curious journey that is life.
